The Better Way
PEOPLE'S views vary on the question of burial. To 'some,
any discussion of the subject is distasteful, and tliey avoid
consideration of it until they are brought face to face with
necessity; then they probably allow someone else to act for them.
Others consider the preparation for such things important, and
they realize that it is wise to attend to it when they have time
and opportunity. Still others, especially those? who have lost
dear ones, desire to do all in their power that may betoken a
respectful service to the memory of those whom they loved.
ULTIMATELY the subject must be faced, for the day will
come when, as heads of households, we must provide for
those who shall pass away from us, and preparation for it is
plainly a duty which' should not be indefinitely deferred.
THE practice of burying human bodies in the ground, coupled
with certain knowledge of what becomes of them there, is
responsible for much of the horror and dread of death, while the
unsanitary character of this method of burial is a source of un
deniable danger to the Jiving. Sir Henry Thompson says: "No
dead body is ever placed in the soil without polluting the earth,
the air, and the water above and below it."
THE "Better Way" makes it very much easier for those who
are left behind to lay away their loved ones. It is a plan
whereby a number of families co-operate in erecting an imposing
mausoleum containing sealed compartments, equipped with sani
