Many persons are prone to criticise the work done by the policemen in our large cities, seldom considering the dangers they encounter to guard our lives and property. When one dishonest officer of the law is caught grafting or engaged in some illegal occupation his act reflects upon the entire department, and the whole or ganization is frequently denounced I because of one ottender. Motion pic J ! ture dramas have treated the police- I I men in a harsh manner, but it re- mained to the Thanhouser Film Cor J I poration to emphasize the good quali- ' ties among the policemen in the Mu- J tual Masterpicture, DeLuxe Edition, S "The Traffic Cop," a five act human interest drama, featuring Howard M ' Mitchell and Gkdys Hulette, at the faherrv theatre. ! ARCADE "Honor's Altar" Exposes Darker Side of Wealth. That power and luxury do not al ways spell satisfaction and pleasure is shown in the Incc-Trianglo drama, "Honor's Altar." This play, in which , Bessie Barriscale, Lewis Stone and Walter Edwards are starred, will ap pear at the Arcade theatre today and tomorrow. Walter Edwards and Bes sie Barriscale have the roles of a self made captain of industry and Ihis wife. He gets into gay society, where he is treated with considera tion on account of his wealth. He thinks that his wife is not brilliant enough to shine in this environment. Lewis Stone tihien appears on the scene in the dining room of a club. Edwards hears Stoe make the boast that he is absolutely without any sense of honor, Miss Barriscale appears to advant age as the unsuspecting loving wife, who accepts without question the man without honor as a friend of her hus band. Stone takes Miss Burriscale for an automobile ride and manages to break down near a notorious road house. Not knowing the nature of tho place. Miss Barriscale consents to enter. There is a strong contrast be tween the confidence of the good wom an and the conflicting feeling of the unscrupulous man of the world. Shall he call up tffie husband and so injure ine reputation oi the wife 7 Stone plays well tho fight in the mind of the boasted man of no honor. But the simple trust shown by Miss Barriscale turns tho scale, and ho gets another auto and takes her home.
