Langrell, of Baker, were among the out-ofi-town attendants at the Eastern Star meet ing yesterday evening. Ed. Wulf, Marshal Huffman and M. G. Church all of Union, are attending business at the land office today. Chus. Miller has returned after an absence since the first of June in San Francisco and other western and southern cities and during which time he bad a continual round of enjoy ment. Miss Rose Waller has returned to Walla Walla after a visit with her parents, Mr. and' Mrs. Mike Waller. Miss Waller is a nurse at St. Mary's hospital in Walla Walla. Miss Nellie Ramsey of Salem is a guest this week with her sister Mrs. S. D. Crowe. M., D. Flor ence Dye, aged about 22, was run down and killed last evening by an auto one mile outside of Myrtle Point. Chris Moller, the driver, was not held, as the officers .are- con- winced that it was an accident. They claim he was new at handling a car. The woman crossed the road to es cape the car and even stood at one kilde, but the machine swerved. The injured girl was brought to town in a machine, but lived only a . few min utes.
