Mrs. Dell Blancett and Mr. and Mrs.
Cuba Crutchfield are in the city after
having taken part in the frontier ex
hibition at Missoula, Montana, where
Mrs. Blancett was injured while
chasing a steer. She was following
the steer closely when the animal be
came frightened just in front of the
grand stand and ran into the horse
Mrs. Blancett was riding. Horse, rid
er and steer roled over and over in
the dust. Mrs. Blanceet had an ankle
several sprained but no bones were
broken and she considers herself for
tunate in escaping. Mr. Blancett is
now at Kalisipel, Montana, where
there is some tiUk of putting on a
frontier show. Mr. and Mrs. Crutch
field and Mrs. Blancett will go over
there if the plans mature. All will be
here in September for the Round-Up.

City Manager F. J. Lafky was a

G. B. Hendricks, who at one time

Dalles on business matters.
Graydon Holt, son of Dr. and Mrs.
R. E. L. Holt is rapidly recovering
from a serious attack of pneumonia.
Mrs. Mark Hasbrook of Prairie City
and her grand daughter, Gretchcn,
who have been at the Dr. p. A. Charl
ton home since their return from the
Portland Rose show, expect to leave
tonight or tomorrow for their' home.
They are much taken up with the ap
pearance of La Grande and the val-
ey.
E. R. Humphreys is able to be down
town again after a prolonged illness
with rheumatism.
Mr. and Mrs. Freligh, of Fort Madi
son, Iowa, who with their daugnter,
Helen, have been visiting the S. R.
Haworth home left yesterday for Den
ver and New Mexico, from whence
they will return to their home.
