Two Mazamas Reach Summit.
White Salmon, Wash., July 6. Nel
son English and II. L. Wolbor, mem
bers of the Multnomah Amateur Ath
letic club party of Mazamas, man
aged to reach the summit of Mount
Adams, out of the 68 starting on the
ascent, and these two faced the great
est difficulties and dangers. The rest
of the party halted 1600 feet below
the summit of tho peak.' The two
men were forced to crawl on their
hands and knees for the last few
hundred feet owing to the terrific
force of the wind, which at tho same
time drove small particles of glues
like snow and ice into their faces.
