To-morrow & Saturday Marguerite Clark In MOLLY-MAKE-BELIEVE itself, is Automobile Guide Day. Mr. Day sees that in tne crusn ot cars all are properly parked so that others who come 'behind will have a place to put their cars too. Last night he used all the space he had at his disposal, and figures that tonight the cars must overflow to the streets. Mr. Day handles the delicate job with diplomacy and effectiveness. The L. D. S. ladies have been doing splendidly. Their service is line and while conditions were such that de mands for food was not overly great, the ladies stand to make a little money for their strenuous efforts if the rain will abate for a day or two. This evening they expect the biggest patronage of the week. They deserve it too for the cafeteria style is well handled, is reasonably priced, and the returns therefore without flaw. Platform Manager Erickson appre ciates brevity. He can introduce the various numbers with less loss of time than any of his processors on that platform. In between introductions he keeps busy in copious ways, one way being to deliver the morning lec tures. Yesterday he was exceptional ly good, and today his address on "Pop" was also splendid. Next Sat urday the Observer hopes to sum marize nil his morning lectures into one composite story and we promise it will be interesting. Forgetting for the moment, the aw ful obstacles and physical handicaps Alexander von Skibimky overcame to be able to play at all, a candid crit icism of the Russian s ability reaas like this: Produces wonderful and I pure tones exceptionally pure dis plays marked technique and musical I perfection ; adopts topheavy seleo i lions for an audience not wholly mu sicians. Had he sprinkled in more pop I ular selections he would have been ' more generously received. But, re I calling again his physical deformities land remembering that he plays with ;an artificial forefinger on the left i hand one marvels at him. All are welcome, linng your snare ot the lunciW, and, too, look in occasion ally at their tent next to the Park booth. Considerable curiosity was aroused this morning by the discovery of a beautiful moth, sticking to the cloth ing of one of the campers . While it very probably is a famous Limberlost moth, of the same specie found near the library recently, it is not nearly so large. The coloring is remarkable. Old rose shades predominate, with liberal black and gray spots. The specimen is still alive and is being kept in a jar by Mrs. H. L. Browning where its beauties are being liberally admired. Everybody is planning on remain ing over Monday for Pioneer day for which verv elaborate plans ihave been '.aid. of the Prohibition party will he held to nominate several district candi dates. Mrs. Ada Wallace Unroll who is now in La Grande will attend the convention. It is presumed the nom inations will take place early in the convention. At tihe state convention held in Portland on May 19th, there were not enough delegates from Eastern Ore gon to undertake the selection of a Congressional . candidate so the Con gressional convention for the Second district was postponed to bo held jit a later date. The chief offices to be filled are: Representative in Congress, Service Commissioner and delegates to the National convention to be held in St. Jaul, July 19th. Several judicial, Senatorial and Legislative nomina tions for districts comprising more tihan one county may also be made at this time. At Foley Hotel B. L. Alton, G. M. Gailey, Enter prise; Geo. F.
