Mc Grnth, former proprietor of the Log Cubin saloon, was yesterday fined $300 and costs in tho justice court at Prineville, for having sold intoxicat ing liquor in violation of the prohi bition lnw. Mr. McGrath will appeal to the Circuit court. The charges were based upon information supplied by two girls in Bend who said they obtained the liquor from Mr. Mc Grath for other persons, Bowel Complaints in India. In a lecture at one of the Des Moines, Iowa, churches a missionary from India told of going into the in terior of India, where he was taken sick, that he had a bottle of Chambcr lnin's Colfc, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy with him and believed that it saved his life. An auto driven by Adolph' Windeshar, of Mount Angel, coming to this place on Tuesday, was wrecked when it turned turtle on the road just south of town. Attempt at Suicide Foiled. Pendleton, Or., June 15. Mrs. Walter Mountain, wife of the pro-" prietor of a rooming house, attempted to end her life Monday night by drink ing bichloride of mercury and car bolic acid. The prompt services of a physician saved her from death, and today she was reported out of danger. She has refused to say what her mo tive was in attempting suicide.
