5000 Cattle Seen in Fox Film.

taken by Raoul A. Walsh, director of
the Fox Film Corporation, in producT
ing the new western drama, "Blue

xornia in order to take an actual
round-up in .which more than 6000
cattle were "cut out"
Moving the company of 80 clavers
and the expense incidental to the
change ia program in taking - the
round-up parts of the picture added
more than $10,000 to the cost of the
production.
It is a typically western drama that
Mr. Walsh has prepared for the
screen; one which will abound with
thrills and be fraught with the at
mosphere of the plains. It had not
been Mr. Walsh's plan, however, to
take the company to New Mexico, as
a "location"' had been decided upon in
southern California near the Mexican
border. - ,
But the opportunity of catching the
actual round-up of 5000 cattle came
and in less than four hours after he
heard of it, Mr. Walsh and hiB com
pany were on their way to Albu
querque, near which city the great
drive of "cows" is taking place.

Fatty Arbuckle and Pretty Mabel
Normund have somo' thrilling' and
comic adventures after they get
spliced by a sky-pilot and leave the
old farm for a cottage by the sea.
It is all recounted in the funny Key-stone-Trianglo
"Fatty and Mabel
Adrift," at the Arcade theatre to
night and tomorrow.
' Their cottage is set adrift on the
ocean and is tossed about in a storm
at sea. The couple wake up to find
themselves in danger of drowning.
Tliey make an amusing picture run
ning around trying to tind a way of
escape. Fatty's pet dog Fido can't
understand exactly what all the ex
citement is about, but his doggish nn
turo responds to the spirit of the oc
casion and ho jumps up on his mus
ter. .!.'':".
This gives him a btilliant idea. He
painfully composes a note asking for
help and pins it to Fido's collar. The
dog gamely swims to shore and wakes
up the old folks on the farm. They
read the note and hasten to the
beach. There they enlist in their aid
a yacht owner, . Ho takes them out
to sea and rescues the forlorn Fatty
and his tearful bride, as their cottage
is about to sink.
Then the villains headed by a rival
of Fatty meet a deserved fate. They
were responsible for setting the cot
tage adrift. They get into a rough
and tumble fight and in the melee one
of the bunch drops a cigar into a keg
of powder. The, cafe, where the
scrapping is on, is wrecked and the
.villains are blown in all directions.
