leader was sick. Bell, was at his best

'Grande team was switched about, be-
cause both regular pitcher and catcher
for the La Grande team were out of,
commission for the day. The infield ;
-was off its stride too, and all added
together made it an easy victory for
Jmhler, somewhere around 12 or 13 to

-with a badly patched up team or for
feit the game, and she' chose the more
sportsmanlike method and lost the
jrume anyway. Anderson of La
Grande and Glenn of Imbler officiated
and things moved along smoothly.

About 20 boys took in the first Y.
M. C. A. hike for thi3 summer, after
reaching Perry the destination of the
trip, the boys were accorded the
piivilege of going through the lumber
mill at that place, it was very inter
esting to the boys and considerable
practical knowledge was gained after
seeing the method in which the log is
taken to saws and then the finished
product. After returning the boys

Notice is hereby given to all whom
it may concern that the Commission
of the City of La Grande, Union
County, Oregon, proposes and intends
to improve Section Five of Sewer Dis
trict Number Three of the City of
La Grande by constructing therein a
sanitary sewer and that the report of
the Committee on Estimates appointed
under and by resolution of the Com
mission of said City of date April 26,
1916, has made its report in writing to
the Commission which report was on
the 19th of May, 1916, finally ap
proved and adopted by tho Commis
sion of said City and said Commission
has set Wednesday, the 14th dny of
June, A. D., 1916 at 7:30 o'clock P.
M. at the Commission room in the
City Building in La Grande, Oregon,
as the time and place when the Com
mission will meet, hear and deter
mine all objections, remonstrances and
claims of grievances of persons inter
ested therein and affected thereby.
That the boundaries of the said Dis
trict to be so improved, as finally
'adopted by said Commission is as
follows: Commencing at the canter of
Block Nineteen, in Coggan's Addition
to La Grande. Oregon, and runrting
