TWO DEATHS LONG SECRET.
Woman Learns .Mother Has Been
Dead 4 Years and Sister 2 Yean;.
New York, June 3. I'our years af
ter the death of her mother r.nd a
year after that of her sister, Mrs.
Mary C. L. Brown first learned that
they were not still alive. Both wom
en (iictl in the Archer Home for Elder
ly People, 41 1 Windsor, Conn., conduct
ed by Mrs. Amy E. Archer-Gilligan,
now under arrest on a. charge of poi
soning one of the inmates.
Mrs. Brown lives in Bridgeport. An
article appearing in a Bridgeport
paper saying that state police were in
that city investigating the circum
stances surrounding the deaths of
Mis, Bridget Lynch, 93 years old, nnd
Mrs. Rosa Lynch, aged 65, was the
first word sho had received of oithsr
of them in years.
Mrs. Brown is a sister of Dr. John
C. Lynch, noted neurologist and mem
ber of the consulting staff of the
Post Graduate Hospital in New York.
Mrs. Lynch died on June 20, 1912, und
her daughter died in 1915. In a
statement Mrs. Brown said that Dr.
Lynch was administrator of the es
tate of the sister.
"It was quite surprising to read in
the newspapers of the deaths of my
mother and sister at the Archer
Home," Said Mrs. Brown. "I cannot
understand why I was never notified
when their deaths occurred. I never
knew they were removed from Trum
bull (near Bridegport.)
"I have nothing to say except that
I wish they would tell the truth," Dr.
Lynch said. "My mother and 'jister
died four years ago of incurable dis
eases, to the best of my belief. They
had the best of treatment in the home
The state can do what it pleases in the
matter."
