Besides a number of settings which ordinarily might be considered elaborate but which in this case are I seemingly small when compared to the bigger sets, there are no less than eighteen distinct set-ups of extra ordinary proportions, ranging from the richly furnished drawing 'loom of the ultra-wealthy to the lavishly doe orated 'ball rooms of the biggest cafes of the day. Nor is "The Ijove I.iir" exceptional ! alone in settings. The story, too, is j unusual. It is based on deep sociolog ; ical study. Just what Mr. Horslcy thought of the story may be gathered from ths fact that he saw (it to give it such elaborate production. Provide the players with peiiell and paT. The leader then announces that a biography Is to be writteu, and the tirst thlug to write is the name of some person in the room. The puper Is folded over so the name cannot be seen and passed lo the player at his left, who writes n date which Is the birth date and the name of some town. The paper Is folded again aud passed to the left, and tills time a soutence of ten words Is wrttleu about early child-, hood, from one to ten years. Next a sentence of the same length, telling of events between twenty and forty years; next between forty und fifty years; date of death next: last, remark about this life. When all has been written the folded papers are passed to the left again and each player rends his paper aloud. The more ridiculous the sentence the better the biography, and, as no one knows what Is under the folded parts, sometimes the date of death will be earlier than that of birth, or ther will be a vast difference In time. Example: Name, John Smith; born July 4, 1449, Boston; from one to len years, mischievous child, ipjur releil with everybody, expelled from school, stole egjis; from twenty lo for ty ntayert home, did dressmaking, be came sickly, remained an old nmld; from forty to tifty became a wealthy widower, left with three children to raise; died Jan. 1, 180O; mom remark able man that ever lived in his little town. "Milkman." A game which children enjoy Tery much Is "milkman." One is chosen to be the milkman, aud the others sit in a row. The milkman then asks them how many quart of milk they want and slaps their hands that many times, lie walks away, and the players call after him. "Hey, hey!" Uo says, "Hay Is for horses." Players: "Straw, straw f Milkman: "Straw Is for cows." Play ers: "Mister!" lie then asks howuiucii milk they want. Kaon one says he found something In the milk, as a but ton, a lly. and the milkman must ask j foolish questions to make the others laugh. The one who keeps repeating the same answer nnd refrains from laughter the longest Is milkman the next time. FULL SIFTER PATENT HARWSGR0CERy I - BAKER MIUaGMIN CO. Did you ever see the man in the moon? Did you ever hear the story about that man? Once upon a time, begins the story as every good story should begin there was a man who was lazy all week, and when Sunday came ho had no firewood. So what does Unit mini do but go out with his pitchfork and steal some brushwood to make a tire. Of course that was very wrong of hini, so he was eon lined in the liiiioi) for his crime that every one might see him and know how wicked be had been. Ice Is specifically lighter iban water just about to freeze and therefore floats In It. Tills is one reason why the formation of ice usually begins at the surface of the water. Another rea son is the peculiar law of its expan sion. The p-neral law is that cold in duces contraction. This law holds ood with water only to a certain point. When it has cooled down to within 7.4 degrees of freezing It ceases to con tract, as before, with increase of cold and begins to expand until it freezes. Tliis expanding would naturally cause tin? coldest parts of the water to rise to the surface. A Remarkable Fiih.
