I Learned hints on achieving success
j were presented to the graduating
1 class of the La Gr.inde high school
I yesterday morning at the high school
j auditoiium when Row W. A. Winters,
D. D., presiding elder of the Li
Grande district of the Methodist
'chuich, spoke to tho giuduutes, their
parents and friends, faculty nnd stu
dent body. The setting was a beauti
ful one, and the service one lone; to
be remembered. A large attendance
j was present to witness the ceremony
and hear the baccaluareate address,
i Speaking from the text I Cor. 9:27,
j"I keep under my body and bring it
into subjection," Rev. Winters touched
upon essentials of right living :nd
'pointed to the route that leads to suc
cess. He said in part:
I Many things are assets to the suc
cess or failure of mankind Heredity,
! health, wealth, training environment,
j opportunity etc. These things are cir
cumstances that help form the back
ground of a man's life and ho fails or
'succeeds as he is controlled by or
controls circumstances. Will he he
slave or master? is the question.
, Two wills have to do with a man's
' success God's and man's but only
! one will has to do with his failure
i his own. Oh yes we may have ro
j verses, misfortunes and lose much in
. many ways, but a man has not failed
J until he ceases trying and gives up
jin dispair.
j God as creator gives to man his
possibilities sets him up in buslne:
. with raw material, sometimes . very
raw, and expects him to manufacture

The world needs your honest ability
rightly applied. Your friends are

develop and utilize the possibilities
