Fair Grounds in Boise Will Be Gath
ering Spot of Many.
Arrangements have been made to
kold the annual campmeeting of the
Southern Idaho Conference of Seventh-day,
Adventists on the Fair
Grounds in Boise, May 18 to 28.
Members of the churches from Baker
City, Blackfoot, Caldwell, Cambridge,
Eagle, Heyburn, Nampn, Pocatello,
Idaho Falls, Wallace, Weiser, Parma.
Salmon, Meridan and many other
places in the southern part of the
state, as well as towns in eastern Or
gon, will join with the members in
Boise in making thc meeting a fuo-
reess. About 15 will go from La
Grande, most of them in autos.
This will be one of several hundred
similar gatherings that will be held
in practically every state in the
Union, every province in Canada, and
various foreign countries, during thi
spring and summer months, which the
Adventists style the campmeetin;;
season. During the ten-days' stay in
Boise the campers will live in tents,
and also hold their daily meetings
under canvas -

with household effects in order to
make the campers as comfortable as

The Good Uoad. association called a
meeting at Muccabee hall 2:30 p. in
Quite a good crowd gathered to hear
what they had to say. The opposition
to thie bonding scheme asked Walter
Pierce, C. D. Huffman and M. L. Car
ter to be present and help with the
good work. Permission was asked to
have a joint discussion which was re
fused. The meeting was called to or
der by George Cochran, president of
the association. Atter a tew well
chosen remarks such as George can
make he introduced Roy Clark, secre
tary of the Y. M. C. A. of iLa Granda
who stated that so far as the bond is

sav but stood for good roads. Next
speaker, and ' the principal one, was
C. C. Chapman, former secretary
Portland Commercial olub, but now
editor of "The Voter" a live wire in
Portland. He was not here to advise
as to voting bonds ut to tell what
ether places had profited by good
roads. C. C. made 8 splendid address,
as he surely can. At the close of the
meeting an announcement was made
that there would be a meeting on the
street corner at once to which all were
invited by Pierce and company in
which the good, roads boosters were
invited to tafo? part. Walter was the

had followed in every event.
Karl Stacklund " was called and
made a few brief remarks in favor of
bonds.
C. C. Chapman was called and nrac-
tically corroborated what Mr. Huff
man had already said. -
George Cochran who had had a
pretty thorough grilling by Walter
Picrca was asked to explain some of
his figures and statements published
in the press and made r. feeble effort
at same. ' .-
