After a lin gering illness, Mrs. Emma Moore, wife of Chief Justice tramc A. Moore, of the supreme court, died at her home here last night. The direct cause of death was an attack of heart disease. . Mrs. Moore was 86 years old, and was a native of Tipton, la. Her maiden name was Shintaffer, and she was married to Chief Justice Moore at Point Pleasant, la., on April 15, 1866. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary this month. Shortly after their marriage they came to Oregon and settled at fct. Helens, and 23 years ago Justice Moore was elected to the . supreme court, and since then the family has resided in this city. Surviving Mrs. Moore, besides the husband, are two daughters. Miss ' Calista Moore, of this city, and Mrs. ! Frank Miles, of Portland, and a son, Arthur H. Moore, of this city. Mrs. Moore was a member of the First Presbyterian church.
