Europe Sells O.-W. Bonds.
Three million dollars of Oregon
Washington Railroad & Navigation
company's 4 per cent first end refund
ing bonds, maturing in 1961, are of
fered in Nevis York and locally at
8C 1-2, yielding about 4 3-4 on the in
vestment. ' These bonds are presumed
to be a lot turned in for marketing by
European holders. Principal tana in
terest of bonds are unconditionally
guaranteed by the Union Pacific rail
road. When theae bondB were issued
in 1911 they sold at 93 and interest.
The entire amount outstanding is
nearly $40,000,000,

charge was made with alacrity.
"That was the most humiliating ex
perience that I ever, had in my life,"
said .Miss Martin, in telling the inci
dent to a friend. "It serves me right,
though, for becoming so wrapped up
in a part. All I can think, talk or
write about is Mary Ann, since work
was begun on 'Merely Mary Ann' in
which I am starred."

to tribe law of the Blackfeet Indians,
Sorgent William Dubey, an old Indian
fighter of the United States Marine
Corps, now retired, told comrades of
the George F. Elliott Camp of the
Spanish War Veterans, at a meeting
last night.
"And yet the plain Indian is pointed
out as a horrible example of sav
agery," Dubey went on. "No. sir, the
Blackfoot is the original pacifist and
