Notice is hereby given that the Re Assessment for the improvement theretofore made of JNorth Second street from the North curb line of W. Avenue (formerly Harding street) in 'Riverside Addition to La Grande, Oregon -to the center line of Lake Avenue (formerly Lake street) in Rynearson's, Addition to the City of La Grande, Oregon, under the pro visions of Ordinance No. 833, Series 1916. Good Things In Market. - One dealer this morning reviewed the market as follows: Strawberries have finally arrived, the first coming today all the way from Lomsana. New ootatoes are due most .aiivtiM-a and the green peas and stringiieans will ibe more plentiful. Even so we have asparagus, spinach, eautvluwer, preen onions and radishes, green peas, beans, tomatoes vmi cucumbers and green peppers. The following is a tasty way to prepare green peppers which will serve in the place of. the meat course. Choose any desired number of pep pers of uniform size. Cut, slice from top and remove core and seeds, taking care to get them all. Par-boil for ten minutes and drain and cool. Take boiled ham. or left over meat and put it through the meat grinder the quantity depends upon the num ber of peppers to ibe stuffed, but don't let the meat predominate add bread crumbs, salt, pepper and a little chopped onion, according to ta3te, and moisten with canned tomatoes so that all.will hold together. Fill pepper shells, sprinkle breaa crumos on wy and a bit of butter and cook twenty minutes in a moderate oven. v D. H.
