La Grande's Store than those of male teachers. Last year women teachers received an average increase of $1.20 a- month while the increase for men was (19 cents per month, he says. The form er were paid an average monthly sal ary of $64.15, and the latter an av erage of $80.26. 1 The average salary paid to Iteach rs 1 in one-room schools was $61.67 per month, to teachers in buildings of more than one room $69.91, while principals received an average of $100.87 per mentihi. City superin tendents, who are usually employed for the entire year, received average actual salaries of $2122.t)6. The highest salaries received by teachers m one-room buildings were paid- in Klamath county, where the average was $77 per month.
