D. Zweifel purchased the Siimonsim lot on Front St. and declared his in tention to erect a new brick building thereon a,t an early date. , The lot is the one on which was lo-' cated the Elgin Bakery, s:.k building having been destroyed by fare- lust full. The location is excellent for buii- iness purposes, being located beween the brick structure occupied by !). A. Barnes' meat market and the Sommer , Hotel brick. The lot is 22 x 72 feet, and the purchase price snid to have I been in the neighborhood of $t!00. j Mr. Zweifel, the purchaser, state that plans will immediately be drawn : for u new brick structure, which will be of the same dimensions as tho lot. j At present he figures on building on- j ly one story. Work will be comment'- j ed on the same as soon as weatfher i permits anil material can be secured. The building will be occupied by j the owner in a line of business to be mnounced at a later date. Anent the Coming Flower Carnival Disagreeable weather interfered to no small degree with the meeting of I Mgin ladies held Tuesday afternoon to discuss plans for the holding of the an mini flower carnival. Several were in attendance and various points of interest irelutive to the event were discussed and the cumivul is now an assured fact. Another meeting will be held next Tuesday afternoon at 8 o'clock at the home of Mrs. S. A. Tuttle to make additional plans. Elgin ladies are specially urged to attend and lend all possible assistance in the important work.
