It Inks rained here every afternoon
.since Saturday. ' Sunday was experi
enced the hardest hail storm for a
lonp time. As a result of the rain

bridges have been taken. The road
up in the canvon. near Joseoh Line-
bagger's place, has required a great
deal of work since the 'rain of last

Mr. and Mrs. ' Reginald Heryford
left on tihe evening of the fifteenth
for Waitsburg, Wash., where they
have accepted a position on a large
farm.
Literafry was closed on Maayh 10th.
Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Linebarger's
little son. Lennie. was taken danger
ously ill last Tuesday. Dr. Margaret
Ingle of La Grande, was called and
after a night's hard wotrk he was
much improved and is getting along

MoClure entertained the members of
the Get Together. Club last Thursday
afternoon at the home of the former.

members' were present and every one
had a pleasant afternoon. Mrs. Alec
Furgason will entertain next Thurs
day. Henry Bambridge left last Thurs
day evening for Portland to join his
wife, who has been visiting "with her
mother, Mrs. Rhoda Bakar, a couple
of weeks.
Wim. Ban ton, wlhlo nad his hand so
badly hurt with an ax some time ago;
has not been getting along so well
lately, finding it necessary to visit
the doctor every day now.
Mrs. Martha Stoll came over from
Adams Saturday evening to remain
fdr an' indefinite period with her
daughter, Mrs. E. C. Fields.
The school children iheld their lit
erary, agaiin Friday. The program
was in keeping with St. Patrick's day.

Beatrice, have been received by the
Chehalis library.' The busts were or
dered lest year by N. B. Coffman as
