Sheriff Taylor returned this morn ing to Pendleton with the three young men taken into custody by the La Grando police department while dis posing of a fine line of pipes. The goods were stolen at Pendleton. Chas. Woods of Walla (Walla is here visiting his sister, Mrs. John Orvis. His mother has been here most of the winter. The W. C. T. U. will meet with Mrs. Spring Darland on Depot street, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 to observe Frances Willaird's memorial day. There will be a program and refreshments will be served and an offering will be taken, those interested in temperance are invited. Sunday was an all-important day in the Presbyterian chvrdit. The day's special features began with a violin solo, "The Holy City" by Mrs, Carse at the morning service. The popular violinist was at her best and plelased the audience with her splendid rendi tion of the well known classic. In the evening a wonderfully successful pageant was staged in tableaux. The house was crowded full to witness tho pantomimes. Next Sunday evening the church contemplates another de lightful evening when tihe choiT renders a sawed concert.
