Mr. Levy is manager of the Levy
VogerDrug Co.- which purchased the
Newlin Drug Co. several weeks ago
on the corner, or Depot and Adams.
The firm is composed of Gus Levy,
for many years manager of the Union
itrug Uo. at Union, and Will Vogel,
who for a long time has been associat
ed with W. J. Townloy in the mercan
tile business at Union. The two boys
are well known .througtiout Union
county and besides operating their
new store in La Grande tfhey will con
tinue to handle the store in Union.
Many Improvements Made.
A complete overhauling and gen
end re-arrangement of the interior of
the store followed the - change of
ownership and modern drug fixtures
have been installed. A rest room for
the public is a feature of the new
store and it is equipped with private
telephone and other conveniences.
The prescription department is under
registered pharmacists only, accord
ing to Mr. Levy's statement today,
and special attention is to be given
the drug sundry line. The fountain
will open as soon as the warm days
arrive and it is intended to give the
best of service with every sanitary
convenience known to the dispensing
or fountain drinks. The candy lines,
as well as the cicrar line hus been
amplified and increased.
A laboratory also has been equipped
for manufacturing purposes.
"It is our intention to run a first
class store," said Mr. Levy. "We
are 5i-re for service and to cive every
one value received for itheir money.
If long experience in the drug line
and faithful work will win the con
iidnce of the people, we will be sure
of that confidence."

prohibition is more prosperous, less
inclined to get locked up in inn and
better off in many other ways, accord
ing to dry reports from all parts of
the state today after nearly two
months experience with the dry law.
In the Rockefeller mining camps the
saloons have been converted into Y. M.
C. A. buildings, in a few instances.
The Rockefeller company advised its
miners to cut out booze entirely. Sup
plies in cellars are beginning to grow
scant and a half a dozen mail order
houses in Cheyenne, Wyo., report
their Colorado (business booming. Some
of the men who engaged in, the mail
order game just before Colorado went
dry were poor but nrohibition has lit
erally made them rich off selling whis
key.
