Last Wednesday evening Royal Allen, principal of Ccve schools, with his basketball team arrived in Imbler. A game was played with the local highs, resulting in a score of 46 to 1! in favor of the visitors. A short con-; flict between the cherry pickers and the Imbler M. I. A.'s resulted in a 12 to 11 score in our favor. Thurs day morning the Covites boarded the train for Wallowa county, to play at Joseph, Enterprise and Wallowa. Hazel Martin has been seriously ill with a double attack of bronchial pneumonia, but is rapidly recovering and will be out again in a few days. Thomas Kuckman was in l-a Grande on business Saturday. Mrs. Guy Glenn was (he guest of Mrs. John Witty Sunday. such that the boys rigged up sails for their sleds and the streets took on the appearance of a Holland canal. Rev. Winters of La Grande was down Sunday to help Rev. Chaplin get started on his new circuit. Quar terly meeting was scheduled for Sun day evening but the delay in tram service delayed the minister's arrival till 9 o'clock so the meeting was post poned.
