'La Grande people are greatly inter ested in the big layman's convention in Portland, February 13 to 16 inclus ive The Laymen's Missionary Conven tion of Orcgouis one of the most in teresting gnuionngs that has ever boen scheduled in the state. It will meet at Portland, February 13th to 16th, inclusive. It is a factor in a nation-wide religious movement that will reach from 75 to 80 of the leading centers of the United States. The Convention is open to tho male members of all evangelical churches of tho stato, and all such are earnest ly urged to register their nnmcs as soon as possible. The movement is financed by prominent Portland men, so that delegates will not be asked to contribute any money, by way of subscription, or through, collections, though a nominal registration of $1.00 will be required.
