Slatter that his contest which had been appealed to the U. S. Land office had been de cided in his favor. Dr. Law was con tested on his desert land filing some two years ago. by Forrest Bandy and the contest was decided by the local land office m favor of Bandy. Dr. Law appealed to the General Land office at Washington through his attorney Mr. Slater and he received his notice re cently. Arthur Terrall and wife and Miss Edith Hunt who had their desert filings contested like Dr. Law also ap pealed their cases and .the' contests were decided in their favor. Mh Heartvdxen was hauling out hay to his homestead today'. Hay is ,. a very scarce article in this vicinity at present. It is reported that there is no straw for sale as so imany are feed ing it instead of hay. . Herman White, Ross Jones, Ellis Hoss and Chas. Law and others at tended the basketball game at Union Saturday night between the Union Feds and the M. I. A. of La Orande.
