Prior to Coming of Dignitaries, Much
Is Arranged for.
A program supplemental to; the
main program , of lectures and
speeches by a half dozen high digni
taries of the general conference of
the Methodist church, has been draft
ed by District Superintendent W. A.
Winters as an introduction to the big
conference of ministers and laymen
in the La Grande district the lust of
this month. The supplemental pro
gram begins on the evening of June
29, and the group of dignataries
headed by Bishop Warner of Denver
will arrive on the scene Thursday
night. On the heels of this series of
conventions, the district Epworth
League convention will be held. The
numbers to be heard before the big
group come, include topics for gener
al discussion looking toward the bet
terment of conditions in the district
which embraces Eastern Oregon nn
