the evening playing games, music and
partaking of refreshments. Charming
vocal music was rendered by Mrs. Coe
and Mrs. Parker, with Mrs. Gibson as

dress was delivered by Father Heuel.

and Mrs. S. A. King, who expect to
leave Joseph next Saturday for a few
visit with relatives and friends
in Walla Walla, Yakima Valley, Port
land and Albany before locatingperma
nenty. During their three years' resi
dence in Joseph, Mr, and Mrs. King
have made manv friends who regret
their departure, but all wish them well
wherever they may go. Mr.; King is
one of the most competent electricians
in the country. Some time ago he re
signed the position of' manager of the
Joseph Light & Power Co. and this
position will be filled for the present
by Henry Doslor., '
Hats off to the JoseDh bovs they
finally won a ball game at last. The Ai
der biope team played tnem a close
fame last Sunday, the score standing
to 6 in favor of Joseph. It was a
rattling good game from start to fin
ish. Next Sunday Lostine will play
Joseph on the Joseph grounds. Sweet
Shop Van - is. now - manager of the
Joseph team and he is a good one.
R. C. Kihgsley has traded his noted
thoroughbred Jersey bull 'Souci Xing'
that has taken premiums at several
western state fairs, to Albin Rudger
for another noted thoroughbred Jer
sey bull, ".Fogis Kent" also a prize
winner. These gentlemen deserve much i
credit for the interest they take in
improving Wallowa County stock.
Hon Abtfa-Fairchlld, the brilliant
Enterprise lawyer, lectured in the
Methodist church at Flora Saturday
evening on subjects connected , witn
the teastern war. He has many Chinese.

" The' Summervllle Cemetery associa
tion will hold its annual meeting ou
the first day of May, 1915, for
the purpose of' electing on trustee,
one secretary and one treasure for one
year. The meeting will be held at 1
o'clock p. m. It will alto be expected
of the people In general to meet In the
i forenoon on, this day- for a general
cleanup of the cemetery.:' Come one,
come all. Everybody la invited to be
present.
Also plans and specifications will be
submitted to the people at the meet
ing for the erection of a chapel in the
cemetery subject to the approval by
the people. ,
