As a result of the' initiative of Wal
lowa county sheepmen, the Columbia
River Wool Warehouse company was
organized a few days aeo with head
quarters in Portland, relates an Enter
prise paper. Jay H. Dobbin is presi
dent and E. W. Rumble general mana
ger of the company. The list of stock
holders includes, . Mr. Dobbin, Mr.
Rumble. Fred W. Falconer and Rohert
N, Stanfield, sheep and wool growers,
and many of the leading bankers of
Portland,
i The purpose of the company is to es
tablish and maintain a warehouse In
Portland, where proper classifications
and gradings of fleeces will be effect
ed and the wool will be offered to the
buyers either in sealed bids or at
auction. Warehouse room- will rent at
first, and a building erected .later
when business warrants. 1 , ;
While the part to be taken by. the
company in handling this- season's clip
is not altogether settled, it is probable
the warehouse will be open before
summer, nnd that it : will recoive
considerable woM nf the new clip.
