torium, the senior German division,
under the direction of Miss Hunter,
will present a German dramatic pro
duction in German. The scenes, cast

Italy, Greece, and the other Balkan
states are likewise reDresented. . In
addition to various British colonies.

of the Congress and thus defeat the
objects for which it was. called, tlie
various women's organizations send
ing delegates atrreed in advance that
any reference to "relative national re
sonsibilitv" for the onein or conduct
of the war should be considered out
of order.. This suggestion was made
by the central committee of Dutch
women who arranged the details of
the Congress and drew up the tenta
tive resolutions which will form the
basis for the general discussions.
"The - only 'possible objection to
such a meeting," said one of the or
ganizers today, "was that at this par
ticular . time, when national feeling
is running so high,, it might result
in unseemly dissensr But we be
lieve that by taking this precaution
ary measure friction will be avoided."
The suggested resolutions contain
the following demands: :
"' That the belligerent countries pub
licly, define the t, terms upon which
I they are willing to make peace, and
for this purpose immediatly call a
truce. (The British delegates object
to the word "immediately')
That all future international dis
putes should be refered to arbitration
or conciliation, and that the Powrs
agree fc bring pressure upon any
country resorting , to arms without
having thus refered its case.
That foreign politics shall be sub
ject to democratic control, and that
women be represented equally With
men in such control, by being given
the parliamentary franchise in all
countries. i;.
The resolutions also urge fhe neces

children that their thoughts and de
sires may be turned t towards '- the
maintenance of peace and that thev
