San Francisco Celebrates - '"Nine
Years After" In Real Style

Panama Exposition, San Francisco,
April 17. (Special) All San Fran
cisco is celebrating "Nine Years After
this being the ninth inniversary of
the great- fire that tiiid : the - city . in
ushes..
A great parade was held this morn
ing and passed in review before the
Tower of Jewels, Major Geo., Murray
and Exposition . offic.cls in the re
viewing stand and thousands of spec
tators lining the line of march. Spec
ial features will be held for several
days in honor of tho occasion. '.
Several Eastern Oregon . people
visited us during the week.

Jones, Ontario, J. E. Mills, Cornuco

terested spectators of the Fair, We

the Fair He is on his way home at
The Dalles and stopped a few days
to see the big show. He was pleased
with the Oregon building and the
showing that Eastern Oregon is making

secretary Edward Baldwin, who made
the trip through the Panama Canal
on the steamer Northern Pacific.
C. N. Cranston of Pendleton arriv
ed here yesterday and will relieve me
of the duties here. I expect to go to
Los Angles and San Diego for a few
days visit and then buck to Eastern
Oregon.

R. C. Lee, of Sumpter, that he will
speak at tho Y. M. C. A. at three
o'clock next Sunday afternoon R. C.
Lee is the man that stood firmly for
law enforcement at Huntington last
year, which stand was probably the
causo for the '"Shooting-up" of his
church and later his heme. He still
holds one of the bullets which he dug
out of the church well. Mr. Lee is ait
old sea captain, and a fighter. ; The
men who hear him next Sunday wilt
not be disappointed. . .
