Panamii Exposition Grounds, San Francisco, April 2. (Speeiul) Will try this time and tell you something of tho wonderful displays" in the gen enil exhibit palaces at tho exposition. Will give it. to you a little at a time as there is so much thut is interesting and instructive that it is hardly pos tnblu to give it all at one time. To sec all the things that there is to see in the various exhibit palaces, would take weeks of careful sight-seeing, nit I will endeavor to give it to you in as unci a lorm and as thorough as my time will permit. We will commence with the Agri cultural building, which has a splen did lot of exhibits from various parts of the world. Oregon has a space in the building of 7.'((I0 square feet in which is shown the products of the different' parts of the state. Willamette Valley has its exhibit, consisting of grains and grasses, canned fruits and vegetables; South ern Oregon is represented by the in dividual displays of Messrs. Sherman and I .owe. Eastern Oregon has n fine .display of grains and grasses, apples, corn and threshed grains. Tho booths are made of Oregon logs and attract tne visitors because of their being out of the ordinary. Massachusetts has a large space de voted to maps, pictures and statistics. Louisiana has unique display of cot ton, corn, grain and grasses, Nevada has processed fruit, grains and grasses. Montana has an artistic booth showinc D-raina nnd iriniu. processed fruit and vegetables. Wash ington nas a booth made of bark and show grains and grasses, processed fruit and vegetables. It also has a miniature harvest scene which is quite attractive and unique. Virginia has an attractive little display of tobacco, corn, grain and grasses and Civil war relics. Wisconsin has relief maps, statistics, grains and grasses. Idaho has an elaborate and striking display, Knowing tne snosnone Falls,, Arrow Hock dam and irrigated farms. It has a good display of grains and grasses and vegetables. Kansas has a striking display with sunjlower decorations. Iowa has mon ster corn exhibit and has used an im mense lot of corn in making a great Horn of Plenty. Illinois has artistic booth displaying com, grains and grasses. New York has cheese ex hibit, showing, a monster cheese weighing 15,000 pounds. The U. S. Government has an inter eating exhibit of plant and animal life, illustrating different subjocts with maris and models. Cocoanuts, hemp, rice, crude rubber, sugar and grains and grasses are all shown and the forestry exhibit is especially good, exciting the admira tion and wonder of all visitors. All of the. state exhib its explained herein have cost many dollars more than the Oregon exhibit, but we doubt if they will attract any more attention or do any more good for their respective states than will the Oregon exhibit. In the Food Products building is shown about all conceivable kinds of food and drink and you can get a sample of anything from cocoa to wine and from lady ringers to hot biscuits. Many people throng this building looking for something free and nibble' around trom one booth to another trying to fool their stomachs into be lieving that they have had a square meni. Demure little Jap girls, smiling col ored dames, big blonde Swedes, swarthy Mexican senoritas, Hebrew damsels, Chinese chickens and other nationalities lure you on with seducive smiles into pnrtaking of their national foods. There are many interesting things to be seen in the building how ever as they make shredded wheat bis cuits, puffed rice, candy and various other things in full view of the public.
