Saturday the entire stock of Towle's Log Cabin maple syrup, which has been tied up in .this territory pend ing investigation and decision of the State Dairy and Food Commission, was released and now wholesalers and dealers are offering tho syrup to tha trade. .. . :- ':-v:?;-..;;: ;r-';- For some reason the'! commission suspected that the Towle product was misbranded and believed tl at it would riot hild up true to its label. Imme diately resting upon the power.'yest ed in it the commission issued an or der that no Towle's goods be sold in the La Grande territory. For two.1 weeks the investigation proceeded nd now the goods are released for sale to the public, which would indi cate the commission got off on the wrong foot in the matter. Had the goods been found unture to name, and had the label stating the syrup contains 60 per cent -of pure! mf.ple and 60 per cent of cane syrup I covered goods which did not contain j these proportions it is very likely the commission would not have released,': the large quitity of the syrup now on hand for sale. - , .: One of the wholesale houses in La ' Grande had on hand , about $1500 V'orth of this syrup.
