The Eastern Ore gon delegation in the legislature want the tax law changed, according to a meeting of the members today. They favor the bill of Barrett, the inten-. tion of which is to remedy the faults in the law in forqe, although excep tions made by the members to tne provisions made by the members to the provisions ' for the - interest pen alty which Barrett sets at 8 per cent for non-payment of the first half of the tax. They regard the tax amend ment of Senator Smith favorably, al though nothing definite was done in the matter. : Smith would bring the assessment , and collection in ' one year.' ; The assessor would begin on January ; 1 and the complete ; roll would be done by the second Monday in June, torbes reported the coy ote bounty bill, now in committee, would probably be given to the house with a provision of $3 per head.
