Leo Goldmg, of Elgin, came in yes terday from his old home at Kokomo, Indiana, where he has been visiting with relatives for the past few weeks. He went out to Elgin this morning. P. M. SHaver and little niece, Ethel, who have been visiting with relatives at Rockford, Oregon, were passengers on. the branch line this morning for their home at Enterprise after spend ing the night in the city. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hansen, of Mo desto, California, arrived in the city last night on their way to Enterprise to which place they have been called by the serious illness cf Mr. Hansen s sister, Mrs. Max Gummerman, who is not expected to live. They left for Enterprise on the branch lino this morning. . Mrs.. C. E. Courtney returned this morning from Huntington, W. Va., to which place she' was called last Octo ber by the serious illness of her aged father, who died four weeks after Mrs. Courtney arrived. Mrs. Court ney spent three months visiting amid the scenes of her childhood, for the first time in over 16 years and says that she only got started in her visit. She found the weather as nice as could be hoped for most of the time in West Virginia, but on her return trip ran into some awfully cold weather at Lyma, Ohio, where she stopped for a visit with relatives. i Arraigned before Justice Williams this morning, Harry Mann and his pal who gives his name as Jack -Smith, were examined and bound over to the grand jury on a charge of having stolen. the furniture from ht -park lodge. 1 The bond was fixod at $400.-each. Batiste Rub- eon, the Swiss-Italian picked up here last week with handcuffs embedded in his arms, is again at large. Having been taken to Walla Walla Friday night by immigration Officer Wells, he was placed in the hospital ward of the county jail and last evening made his second escape from the off icers. This was the substance of a mes sage received by local - officers laet evening, over the telephone.
