Early Tuesday morning a fire -was discovered! in the harness shop of Rex Smith on Scoi.d street. The blaze was discovered by Wm. Henderson, and it is believed was caused by : defective flue. Thousands f people were on the grounds at Eagle park during the three days. Saturdt-y a patriotic program consisting cf speeches and music was supplied the guests and each day there was danc ing in the pavillion. Informal amuse ments, games and pastimes permitted tne guests to make merry during ihe ; I tnree days an(l nights. The crowds each day ran into the thousands, the visitors going and coming as moods rrompted them. Admission was free, j Jerry P. Rusk was the principal patriotic speech to the kagles anrt their friends. Angus Steward read the declration !of independence and Mrs. Stillwell of Fruitdale read a paper on "Our Na tion's Flag."
