Union, June 19. (Special) Union
had quite an exciting time at the
school election on Monday as there
was a warm contest for both places of
director and clerk. A large - crowd
was in attendance at the opening and
voted to keep the polls open until six
o'clock. C. J. Forsstrom chairman of
the board appointed four ladies and
cue -man on the 'election board. For
the place of director C. J. Forsstrom
was elected by a majority of eight
over his opponent John' Welch. R. J.
Kitchen was elected by a majority of
two votes over E. L. Mcintosh. It is
tr. be seen by these small majorities
that the contest was close and a heavy
vote polled. The good) people of Un
!on are interested in their school and
want to keep them up to a high stand
ard. It is good for any place when
the people are interested in public en
terprise and Union shows by her in
terest in the school election that she is.
