shown in the venture. The juicy
commodity is still too high, merchants
argue, to warrant extensive stocking
While cucumbers have come down
a trine, the general price of vege
tables remains high for the recent
frosts have nipped tender vegetables
in the Chinese gardens and it is likely
that several brands of vegetables,
principally cucumbers, will be high
all summer.

Creek, near Hot Lake, in Union
County Oregon, according to plans

fice of the County Clerk.
Bids will be received for the work
complete according to the plans and'
specifications, including steel work,
f onudation, forms, excavation and
erection.
Bids must be filed on or before 10
(o'clock a. m. June 22nd, 1914.
No proposal will be considered un
less accompanied by a certified
check on some reputable bank in the
State of Oregon, for an amount
equal to five per cent of the aggre
gate amount of the bid and payable
to the order of the County Treasurer
of Union County, Oregon.
