Management of all high school Student activities under one head, thus centralizing responsibility, has resulted in the marked success in La grande this year. Yesterday after noon the athletic council met to file its report for the year, and to have accounts audited. J. E. Reynolds, representing the school board has found the funds correctly accounted for, and Student Manager Gilbert Hunter can show a net profit of S19.75 for the year. The association sterted on rockbed, with nothing to go on and the whole year's activity before it. Perhaps the greatest piece cf economy in the whole year is shown in the football expenditures. Outside of the cost of bringing teams here for football,, a total of only $15.G0 was spent during the season. Basketball Receipts "Big. Basketball brought some of the biggest receipts for the year. How ever, other activities helped swell the student body treasury. 'The J. W. Fr.rlan lecture netted considerable, end the entertainment given by Miss Buchanan netted ?40.O0. The total receipts for the year are $400.90. Total expenses for football, lasketbull and track team, $381.1o, leaving a fund on hand of $19.75. The management under Mr. Hunter has therefore brouttht the student j body out of debt and left it at the j school-year end with funds on nana. The council is made up of two faculty members Superintendent Girdler and Principal Olsan one school board j member J. E. Reynolds and two students who are the manager and assistant manager, Mr. Hunter and Homer Leffel.
