News Items and Pergonal Mention ' ' from Union District. :, Union, April , 29. (Special) The stock show committee has contracted for a large band of Indians to be pre sent in Union during the stock shoftr and they will give their ; perform ances and add to the many attractions already engaged for the show. The intention is to have the best one this year that Union has ever had and no expense or work is being spared to bring about this result Baxter & Yorgason have bought an auto from Will Parker and will use the same in their rapidly growing business. These gentlemen are giv ing the public quick delivery and their business is growing rapidly as a con sequence. - ' Earnes Parker went over to, Medi cal Springs to bring iback some par ties from that place last Sunday and had the misfortune to break the front axel of his auto and reports very bad roads by the way of Lyons Hill. He returned by the way of Baker. George Glover who had the misfor tune to break a bone in his wrist while cranking an auto, is getting along nicely and will soon be able to use it i again. Unce Will' Hutchmson who was operated on last week in the Grande Ronde hospital for stomach trouble, is getting along fine and will soon be out again. The ladies of the missionary society of ' the Presbyterian church, met in their monthly meeting at Mrs. Town ley's on- April 24th. , Mrs. Townley and Mrs. Bidler being hostess's. The society is adopting a new plan of mis sion study for the new year that promises to be interesting and in structive. Mrs. Walter ' Cock wis leader and the ladies ex pressed themselves as well pleased with the program. Mrs. Cudwell'was summoned to Ferndale, Washington, last week on receipt of the sad news of the sudden 1 death of her mother.
