Annie Meyers of North Powder is
visiting In Union with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Haynes. Mrs. Mey
ers will remain for some days and
help to take care of her mother who
has been quite eick but is better now.

son. Mr. Bassett is the engineer at
the Wright sawmill.

on Thursday night of last week. Chap

The Missionary society of the Pres
byterian church met at the home of
Mrs. Gilfillian on Friday" afternoon.
Officers were elected for the follow
ing year, Mrs. C. E. Davis, President,
Mrs. Emily Cock, vice-president, Mrs.
Cadwell, secretary and Mrs. George
Scibird, treasure. There was not a
very large attendance owing to the
busy season but a fine program was
given with Mrs. Goodrod as leader af
ter which refreshments were served
and ' the society adjourned to meet
with Mrs. Townley and Mrs. Bideler
in April.
Uncle Bill Hutchinson who has been
quite sick for some days is out again
and will soon be as well as ever.
F. W. Seavert had a fight with his
auto and got the worst of it He has
a badly sprained wrist as he was hit
by the crank while trying to crank his
auto. i

paid and trying to find out how much

Cleeton deserves a vote of thanks
from the taxpayers - on the decision
that he has given.
