MT. GLEN LAND CHANGES HMDS
Mt Glen, March 26, (Special)
The funeral, of the infant son of
Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Hendricks, was
held in the Mt Glen chapel Wednes
day afternoon, March 17 at 12:30
o'clock. Interment was made in the
La Grande cemetery. -
J. D. McKinnon has just recently
told his land here to a Portland man
The funeral of the infant son of
land has been known as the Wilson
place, the consideration was not divulged.
E. D. and Frank O'Neal have
leased Mr. Evans' place, consisting of
160 acres, more or less. The O'Neals
will take possession at once and Mr.
Evans will move to La Grande,
where he will make his home. For
some time Mr. Evans has been an
enterprising farmer in this section
for many years and now thinks he
will take life easy.
. C. L. Spiker of La Grande was in
this neighborhood the end of the
week transacting business.
N. M. Feik made a trip' to Elgin
the first of the week.
J. H. Millering has been busy the
past few Jays pulling apple trees for
J. S. Mitchell. This makes the third
orchard that has been - up rooted
since last fall. A traction engine and
block and tackle are the instruments
used. Several more orchards will be
pulled out in the future.
' Everybody is. plowing and getting
ready for seeding.
The Literary Society meeting held
Thursday the 19th was a grand suc
cess. A good program was rendered.
George Stodard of La Grande was
the principal speaker. Many good
points were given on the subject of
finance. Next Thursday night,
March 26, there will be a debate, a
general good time is anticipated.
J. R. Beddes, has purchased the re
maining part of the Wilson land, con
sisting of 35 acres. The consider
ation is $70 per acre.
Asa and Jewl Hendricks, of La
Grande, made a trip to this place
the first of the week.
Peter Allen expects to move soon
from his large farm to his place in
Mt. Glen.
Jas Ainsworth returned Wednes
day from an extended trip in the
east.
Mrs. N. M. and Mrs. A. J. Feik of
Mt. Glen, made a trip to La Grande
the first of the week and were the
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Will Rogers.
H. S. Hendricks recently purchased
a small tract of land near the Feik
mill where he will make bis home.
Mrs. Eva Perry, who has been quite
ill for some time is able to be
around again.
The Mt. Glen school injoyed
very pleasant trip on the mountain

judge called me to him.
