Short, snappy noonday services for
men are to be held in Honan hall
Passion week and Holy week. The
hours have been arranged so that
workmen, clerks and business men
can drop in for a few minutes and
still get to their lunches within the
hour. The plan is an unique one and
will undoubtedly be of much success.
The cervices are being arranged by
Reverends W. C. Drahn and Upton
H. Gibbs and will be assisted by other
pastors of the city.
This is the first time that La Grande
has been promised such services, and
that they will be a tremendous suc
cess is deemed a certainty.
Passion week begins Monday, March
30. and each day of that week and
each day of Holy week commencing
April (, these servrces will he hem.
The feature of the plan is that the
meetings will start on the minute
and end on the minute; no dragging
is to be permitted. At 12:05 hey
will open and close at 12:30. The
subjects for discussion at each meet
ing are:

cup of sorrow.

Mission to Start.
Members of St. Mary's Roman Ca
tholic church will experience two
weeks of spiritual exercises during the
mission which will be conducted by
Rev. Father Brady, diocesan mission
ary. The first week of the mission
will be devoted exclusively to women,
when all of the spiritual problems of
women, and others, too, that have
any bearing on their religious life
and duties, will be thoroughly dis
cussed by a man who has seen the
outs and ins of life and is able to ad
vise. During the week following the men
will hear their duties discussed, duties
not only to themlves and their fam
ilies, but to society. At a prepara
tion for caster it will be a time of
special grace and meditation and men
will be enabled to stop and take their
bearings, consult their compass, and
get back into the approved course, if
they have swerved from it. The mis
sion begins tomorrow morning.
