Everybody is attending these meetings and considerable in terest is manifested. Political issues ai i brought out and discussed. Dis cussion next Tuesday, "Shall We En dorse Gov. U. gave a series of pictures from the lantern, showing the evil of the liquor traffic. The house was filled to over flowing and illustrated the senti ments of this community. Notice is hereby given that the as eessment for the Improvement of Cedar Street, being improvement District No. 60 of the City ' of La Grande, Oregon, under the provis ions of Ordinance No. 7,65, Series 1914. "An Ordinance declaring the cost of Improving Cedar Street from the South line of Main Avenue to the North line of Spring Avenue, by grad ing said street; determining the prop erty benefitted thereby; levying an assessment thereon to defray th cost and expense of said improvement; pro viding for an assessment roll of the same; directing the entry of such as sessment roll in the Docket of City Liens; providing a time when the same shall become delinquent; and requiring the City Recorder to pre pare a special assessment roll in ac cordance with the assessment levied herein, and to collect such assess ment, the same being in Improvement District No. 60 in said City of La Grande, Oregon, is now in my hands for collection and the same may be (paid to me at any time within ten(10) I lays from the 26th day of February, 1914, without penalty, interest or cost; and each property owner is hereby notified that on application to the undersigned within ten (10) days from the 26th day of February, 1914, which is the first date of the publication of this notice, that they will be allowed to pay such assess ment in ten (10) annual installments, the first installment thereof being due and payable on or before the 18th day of February, 1915.
