Snow has fallen to a depth of ' 8
inches in this vicinity and logging op

H. S. Hendricks of La Grande, has
moved with his family to Mt. Glenn,
where he will be engaged in logging.

straw for the past few days.

Friday night. A good attendance
was reported and everybody had a
most enjoyable time.
J. R. Beddes is being detained at
home with several of his little tots
having the measles.
Fred and Joe Leak have been haul
ing pole wood the past few days.
The little daughter of Mrs. Bessie
Leak is quite sick with the measles.
Pete Allen made a trip to La
Grande the end of last week on busi
ness. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Larson of La
Grande, are visiting with Mrs. Lar
son's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L.
Whiting.
Harry Russell, a Wyoming student
in O. A. C, and Scotch comedian,
does the Harry Lauder impersona
tions for the glee club with re
markable success.

It would teem needless to enter in
to a detailed discussion as to . the
preparedness of this popular organiz
ation. Suffice to say that after weeks
of faithful and diligent training un
der the direction of Prof. William.
Frederic Gaskins and George Ran
dolph Thomas, every member .is keen
to make the one supreme effort
that of pleasing. The news items of
our contemporaries stand sponsor for
the assertion . that the boys are pre
pared. '
: The concert in itself will not be un
like those of former years, with the
one exception that a greater supply
of ability has been available and con
sequently a more evenly balanced club
has been moulded. Great care has
been exercised in the selection of the
songs and "stunts," which make up
the programme. Everything sug
gestive or of the cheap vaudeville
variety has been excluded; quality
not quantity has received the time
and attention, thus catering and
striving for the artistic and distinctly
edifying effect.
"Battle Hymn" from the opera
"Rienzi," "Archers Marching Song,"
and "But They Didn't" are the songs
among those sung by the club, which
will win greatest favor. But all
numbers are rendered in a pleasing
manner.
A distinct characteristic of the
club is the large number of special
ties which it prescitits: solos, read
ings, burlesques and Scotch Mono
logues are among the many.
