Mrs. Frank English passed away last Mon- 'day night in her home in this city, after a lingering illness. ' The funer al services were held in the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. The body was laid to rest in the Wallowa cemetery. The deceased is survived by a husband, Frank Eng lish, four children, father, mother, brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. The O. A. C. glee club will present their program in the high school aud itorium Saturday night, Feb. 14, ac cording 'to Manager Keiffer's stated ment The O. A. C. band presented a fine entertainment here Christmas week and we feel sure the people wilt be pleased -with the program which the glee club is to present. - '. The W. H. Bud Heskett of Leap, delivered hogs for the market in this city last week, The Methodists and Presbyterians held a Union meeting Sunday night in the Methodist church on account of bad weather. A very effective ser mon was preached by Rev. Shimion, of the Presbyterian church. Howard O'Brien of the Wallowa Hardware Co., arrived home from Portland where he spent two or three weeks with friends in that city, Earl Sherod and wife arrived from California where they were recently married. Have it done at o Imbler, Feb. 9 (Special.) Harvey Berry was seriously injured Wednes day afternoon when a load of hay toppled over and threw him against the side of the rack. Little Irma Henry was brought home from the Grande Ronde hospital on Thursday morning. She is slowly recovering from a severe operation for appendicitis. Miss Florence Dojrton of Portland, is visiting her friend Mils Merle Mc Kelvey. On Saturday night Mrs. Hugh Hu ron and Mrs. Frank Barrett enter tained about 40 friends at cards. Hon ors were carried off by Mr. and Mrs. Cap Tuttle. . Imbler is making arangements for the 0.A. C. glee club concert to be held here next Wednesday. At noon the club will be given a dinner by the O. A. C. alumni and their wives. After the concert in the evening a dance will be held. Mrs. Guy Glenn and Mrs. Booth Larson entertained nine tables at cards on Thursday night. Miss Day-1 ton of Portland, and Mr. James Mc-1 Kenzie carried off the prizes.
