Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bonheur, of Toronto, Canada, arrived in the city last night to be the guests of La Grande relative sand friends for some time. ' ' I Mrs. J. I. Bradley, of Portland, passed through the city this morning on her way to Joseph where she will be the guest of her mother Mrs. Sims. Mrs. A. Combs and daughter, Gol die, departed for Imbler today and will make their home in that place in the future. Her husband is in charge of the co-operative store. Kenneth Evans, of the La Grande Grocery company, incorporated, went to Elgin this morning on business connected with the company. He will return tonight. - . Guy Glenn, of Imbler, one of the Mr. and Mrs. George Bonners and family passed through the city en route to Enterprise from Salina, Kan sas. They are former residents of this section of the -country and are going to Wallowa to visit with for mer friends. . Mrs. Scott, of Joseph, who has been in the Grande Ronde hospital for a number of weeks returned to her home in Joseph this morning. She was accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Daisy Scott, who came down to assist her home. ' . Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Kelsey, of Jos eph, who have been visiting in Rose burg returned to their home this morning. They visited Mrs. Kel eey's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sellers. They were accompanied by their children, Gladys, Edna and Bill. Ellis R. Vaughn was taken to the La Grande hospital Saturday and op erated upon by Dr. Gillis for a very bad case of appendicitis.' Mrs. N. D. Vainer of Alder Slope was taken to the same hospital at the same time and operated upon. - Both are get ting along nicely at last accounts. Joseph Herald.
