Ladd Canyon People Enjoy Christ mas Despite Snow and Storms. . Ladd Canyon, Ore., Dec.' 28. (Spe cial.) Perhaps 1 the worst blizzard which we have had this winter pre vailed all day befor eChristmas, that night' and Christmas morning -until nearly 10 o'clock, when it cleared away, leaving plenty of snow, in huge drifts and a nice day most of the I day.' It is a well known fact that j every one had a very merry day of it, ; and a good many of the youngsters had trees in their homes. - Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Peebler's started to Cove in their automobile to spend Christmas with Mrs. Peebler's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Johnson, but got fast in a snow drift and came back and went over . with their driving team. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar ' Crossen drove out from La Grande and spent the yuletide at the beaside of Mrs. Crcssen's brother, John McCauloy, Jr., who has been quite ill for some time with pneumonia, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mc Cauley, Sr. Dr. Underwood of La Grande, has called on him several times and reports him doing as well as circumstances will allow. Mrs. Marie Larm's Christmas hearth was made the merrier by the I presence of her daughters, Mrs. t Bertha Evanson, of Grants Pass, and Mrs. Belle Huntley and four children, I from La Grande. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peebler's and 'son, Walter spent Christmas at the !home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sym horst, Mrs. Peebler's parents at La Grande. Mr. and Mrs. James Mulholland and children and Mr. and Mrs. Alec Ferguson, and baby, Lee, all drove to La Grande, where they enjoyed Christmas goodies at the home of Mrs. Mulholland's sister, Mrs. Dora French. Mr. and Mrs. William Ban ton and children helped devour the Chirstmas turkey aat the home of their dauehted, Mrs. Asa Benton in La Grande. ' Croup and Cough Remedy.
