Ladd Canyon Society to Participate in Big Barn Dance Saturday. . Ladd Canyon, Ore.. Dec, 5. (Spe cial.) Dick Peebler has his new barn nearly completed and workmen com menced to paint it today., The color is red in appearance. They are mak ing preparations for a "barn dance" which they will hold on the spacious floor Saturday night. The floor will be in good condition ahd of course Ladd Canyon will be there and a crowd from La Grande is planning on attend ing. 'Mr. and Mrs. Peebler extend a hearty welcome to all who desire to attend. ' . Willard Couch, the leading butter maker in the neighborhood is having another barn erected. An addition is being built on the ' plaining mill at Lone Tree station in ; order to have room for a ripping saw ! which .will be quite a convenience, enabling the company to saw various sizes of lumber. - . The Thanksgiving program whicn Mr. Hunt, the teacher, and the Ladd Canyon pupils rendered at the school house Friday night was very good.
