(Special) Parley Feik, the 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Feik, is counting up his fine bunch of Belgian hares for the Thanksgiving market. Parley has ieen experimenting with chickens and ducks, for more than two years and now he has solved the problem and out of all his experience has found that his hares are more' profitable than either the chickens or ducks. Par ley says it takes double the time and care to mature a bunch of chickens or ducks for the market as it does his rabbits, and as(his rabbits increase so rapidly it is more profitable for him to raise the latter, bo the young lad is going, into the business on a larger scale. ; He has a ready market at 50c each; He also intends to prepare sev eral acres of alfalfa in the spring on which to establish his rabbitry. Moroni Allen, an eider in the L. D. S. church, has recently arrived from Cal ifornia, where he filled a two years' mission and is visiting with his father. Peter Allen. He will leave in a. few days for his home in Canada. N. M. Feik finished the wood sawing on the Sand Ridge Wednesday. There were present all of her schoolmates and her teacher, Mr. Lamar Westen skow. ' " . ' Fred Zaugg returned home Wednes day from an extended trip to. Canada, where has a large farm. He re ports crops very ( good for so cold a country. Mr. Zaugg, after harvesting his crops goes each fall to Canada to assist his brother in harvesting the crops there, but always plans to, get back to Grande Ronde's warmer cli mate for the winter. ' Robert Leak, who has been ill with lr grippe, is reported feeling much better. Mrs. James Ainsworth, after a long seige of sickness in the La Grande hospital, is able to be at her home acain.
