M., met a few days ago with the ladies of the Island City church and made an address full of information concerning the Oregon missions, the Chinese missions in Portland, and the home for aged ladies in Walla Walla. According to the re port given by the field secretary all of the missions are in a flourishing con dition. Two years ago through the efforts of Mrs. Maynard Thompson, the society of the Island City church decided to raise $25 for Bpecial work. The amount was raised and the field secretary presented the society with a life membership in the national so ciety. Eight litle girls sang a pretty mission song and presented the society with a box of dolls, with the request that they ba sent to Brother and Sister Madden, now living in Japan, and that they be given to some Japanese children at Christmas time. During the social hour the little girls assisted in serv ing refreshments. .
