Last night's rally goes to show that
the high school has not lost faith In
its football boys, even if other people
have, and the team goes out this af
ternoon knowing that the whole
school is back of them and to prove
that their faith is not misplaced. About
200 students armed with ail the avail
able noise makers that could be found
within and without the city limits.
These were gathered by boys and girls
after school last evening. The fresh
men were set to work assembling a
bunch of wood for a fire, at four in the
afternoon, and had great success. The
students assembled at the high school
grounds at seven o'clock and headed
by the yell- leader, Lester Stoddard,
they "single filed it" down the main
streets, down Fourth on ( to Depot,
thence up and down Adams, giving
yells, ringing bells, blowing horns,
pounding on tin pans, beating cans,
dragging cowbells, and making all the
noise possible. Wherever a crowd was
assembled the bunch of students broke
into the center and gave a rousing yell
and told of the game today. The

were given a hearty hand. After dis
turbing the peace of the quiet streets
for about an Hour the procession wend
ed its way up the hill to a vacant lot
near the school house, and set fire to
the huge, pile of wood assembled by
the industrious freshmen. By the light
of this fire more yells were given and
speeches were indulged in, Professor
Olsan gave an interesting talk on the
loyalty of students to the team and
the keeping up of a good school spirit.
His talk was followed by another giv
en by Mr. Maris, who told of the help
a team felt when backed by a "live
bunch" of rooters. Following these
talks a few of the freshmen made at
tempts at songs, speeches and dances.
Then the whole crowd gave a correct
imitation of an Indian war dance, A
few attempts were made at hazing but
all was carried on in an orderly man
ner and in the best of spirit. Some of
the students represented the Baker
players and carries off their honors
very successfully, according to those
who witnessed the performance.
